El Cangrejo is a barrio of the Bella Vista corregimiento, laid out in the 1950s as the city's most modern and exclusive neighborhood around the hill of the Colegio de La Salle, which is why its streets curve.1 It sits between Vía España and the Transístmica, and Vía Argentina, lined with royal palms and guayacán trees, is its main street.1

Vía Argentina is the café strip. Mentiritas Blancas is on Avenida 2B just off it, and Café Unido and Tres Cosechas are among the street's other cafés.23 Artisana is on Calle José Isaac Fábrega and Casa Valiente on Calle Enrique Geenzier. A 2024 guide called the area one of Panama City's most walkable, with wide, tree-lined sidewalks.3

Local tip: On a Monday, when Tres Cosechas and Armonica Café are closed, Café Unido on Vía Argentina is open from 07:30.
