Phú Hội is the south-bank district where Trường Tiền bridge comes ashore.1 Its streets of Phạm Ngũ Lão, Chu Văn An and Võ Thị Sáu are Huế's phố Tây (Western street), the backpacker quarter of guesthouses and bars.23 Since July 2025 the old Phú Hội ward has belonged to Thuận Hóa ward.4

Coffee here ranges from Cà Phê Muối at 10 Nguyễn Lương Bằng, where salt coffee began in 2010, to the cafés in the kiệt (alleys) off Nguyễn Công Trứ and the terraces where that street meets the river.5 After dark it has more of the city's midnight cafés than any other area.

Local tip: Go to Cà Phê Muối on Nguyễn Lương Bằng before 11:15 or after 14:00, since it closes in between, and let the phin finish dripping before you stir.
