The canal through Parque El Virrey belongs to the Salitre river basin. In November 2021 the city water company handed over 800 m of rebuilt canal between Carreras 11 and 15, with planting and wildlife refuges planned, as a pilot for restoring urban waterways.5

The Museo del Chicó, at Carrera 7a #93-01, keeps Mercedes Sierra's collection of crystal, porcelain, textiles, ceramics and gold- and silverwork in ten rooms and a chapel. It opens Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00–13:00 and 14:00–17:00. Her father, Pepe Sierra, was an early 20th-century merchant with large landholdings around the country.2

A 2005 renovation regrouped the collection into themed rooms, among them European and American goldsmithing, the bath, the chapel and a starry sky, plus a room for Doña Mercedes herself.2
