Dublin's meat-free food scene has shrunk and regrouped. Several well-known vegan places closed in the early 2020s, among them Kale + Coco, the Vegan Sandwich Company and Sova Vegan Butcher, and most of the good options left are not strictly meat-free.1

What you find instead are cafés with long vegan menus beside a few fully plant-based counters. Grafton Street & St Stephen's Green has the most cafés with vegan options, ahead of Smithfield & Stoneybatter and Portobello & Camden Street. Near Grafton Street they include Rosie's Cafe on Werburgh Street and Tiller and Grain on South Frederick Street; in Portobello, Brother Hubbard South on Harrington Street, Meltdown on Montague Street and The Cake Cafe on Pleasants Place.

Local tip: Ask for oat milk at Bibi's in Portobello or Brindle on Lennox Street, where it cost nothing extra in 2026.2

Where these cafés are: Grafton Street & St Stephen's Green (6), Smithfield & Stoneybatter (5), Portobello & Camden Street (4), The Liberties (2), Capel Street & O'Connell Street (2), Phibsborough & Drumcondra (1), Ballsbridge (1).
