Armenian Street & Beach Street and Chulia Street & Love Lane have the most cafés open late. Reggae Cafe at 163 Lebuh Pantai closes latest, at 01:00 every day, and Blooms on Lebuh Tye Sin stays open until 00:30 on Friday and Saturday.

Chulia Street, with its many hawker stalls and restaurants, is the obvious place to end an evening with food.1 Several of the late cafés around it double as bars or dessert shops after dark.

Local tip: Gudang Cafe closes on Tuesdays and Narrow Marrow on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; on those nights Kopi Loewak on Armenian Street is open until 00:00.

Open until midnight in the heritage zone

Kopi Loewak at 8 Lebuh Armenian and Gudang Cafe at 5 Gat Lebuh Armenian both close at 00:00; Gudang is shut on Tuesdays. On the Love Lane side, Wheeler's at 67 Lorong Love, Moustache House at 24 Lebuh Campbell and Peace & Joy Cafe on Lebuh Queen also run until 00:00 daily.

ChinaHouse at 153 Beach Street opened 10:00–00:30 every day in November 2025.2 Closer to Komtar, Matcho Café on Lebuh Noordin, a matcha café, keeps 14:00–22:00 and closes on Tuesdays, Sinar Koffee on Jalan Hutton runs until 22:30, and Jaya Golf Cafe on Jalan Doktor Lim Chwee Leong until 22:00 every day.

Back in the lanes, Mews Cafe on Lebuh Muntri opens 08:00–22:00, and The Ais stays open until 22:00, or 23:00 on Friday and Saturday. Constant Gardener on Lebuh Light closes at 18:30 from Sunday to Thursday, so its late nights are Fridays and Saturdays only.3

Cafés that turn into bars and dessert shops

Narrow Marrow, at 312 Lebuh Pantai, serves tiramisu by day and drinks after sunset; in November 2025 it opened 15:00–23:00 Thursday to Monday, and its nutmeg soda cost RM17.2 Cheevit Cheeva, at 286 and 288 Lebuh Pantai, opens at 13:30 and closes at 23:00, or 23:30 on Friday and Saturday. The Nook Books & Coffee on Lorong Ikan stays open until 23:00, Wednesday to Sunday.

Constant Gardener, in the Chinese Chamber of Commerce building, extends to 22:30 on Friday and Saturday.3 Hema Hema Ice Cream on Lebuh Campbell scoops gelato until 22:00 from Thursday to Sunday, with single scoops at RM10 in November 2025.2

Late cafés outside the center

In Pulau Tikus, Kafka Coffee at 15 Jalan Kelawai opens 08:00–22:00 daily, and Big Ben on Jalan Kebun Bunga reopens 17:00–22:30 after its brunch shift. Off Macalister Road, Jin Cafe on Jalan Siam keeps 15:00–23:00 from Monday to Saturday, and Tong Sui Po on Jalan Seang Tek 15:00–22:30, with Tuesdays off.

Some kopitiams run into the night too. In Bandar Baru Air Itam, One Six Eight Eight Kafe was open 10:00–23:30 daily in July 2026, and Gelugor-Mandarin Cafe in Taman Island Glades 06:00–23:00.4 Project CAN @ Lebuh Glugor stays open until 22:00.

Getting back after dark

The free CAT shuttle between Weld Quay and Komtar runs until 23:45.5 After that, Grab, the ride-hailing app, is the easiest way back for most visitors. Taxis generally do not use meters, and a metered fare is always lower than a price quoted in advance.6
