For a workday in a Bogotá café, location matters as much as the connection. Colombia Move's August 2026 guide to working from the city's cafés advises choosing one in a walkable neighborhood such as Chapinero, Zona G or Usaquén, because crossing town in traffic can take two hours.3

The same guide rates café Wi-Fi as fine for writing and browsing but not for critical video calls or large uploads, and suggests a local SIM or eSIM with data loaded as a backup hotspot.3 About a quarter of the Wi-Fi cafés are in Quinta Camacho & Zona G and as many in La Candelaria & Centro, with Teusaquillo third.

Local tip: If a café's connection drops, a park on the WiFi Bogotá network gives you 45 minutes at a time and lets you reconnect; find the nearest zone on mapas.bogota.gov.co.12

Where these cafés are: Quinta Camacho & Zona G (10), La Candelaria & Centro (10), Teusaquillo (7), Chapinero (3), Zona T & El Retiro (2), Usaquén (2), Suba (2), La Macarena & Centro Internacional (2), Salitre & Engativá (1), South Bogotá (1), Cedritos & Toberín (1).

Wi-Fi cafés in Quinta Camacho and Zona G

The blocks around Calle 70A and Carrera 11 have the densest run of Wi-Fi cafés. Autóctona Café at Avenida Carrera 11 #69-16 keeps the longest hours of these, Monday to Saturday 08:00–20:00 and Sunday 08:00–19:30. Oculto Coffee at Avenida Calle 72 #9-83 opens weekdays at 07:30, and Café Banna at Calle 69 #10-19 runs weekdays 08:45–18:45.

Libertario Coffee Roasters at Calle 70A #5-37 has communal tables that laptop workers use, though Wi-Fi, noise and free outlets vary with the crowd, so an early visit gives more choice. At Café Cultor's brick house on the same street, some seats suit a laptop but outlet access varies.3

La Candelaria, Teusaquillo and Chapinero

In the old center, Arte y Pasión Café is at Calle 10 #8-87 and La Redada Miscelánea Cultural at Calle 17 #2-51. Papaya Gourmet at Carrera 3 #12C-94 opens at noon on weekdays and stays open until 21:00. Café Unión is at Calle 10 #2-02 and Jaguar Coffee Bogota at Calle 13 #2-87.

Teusaquillo has Cantera Cafe Work at Carrera 25 #41-94, open Monday to Thursday 08:00–20:00 and until 21:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. In the same district, Café Marrón is at Carrera 19 #45-25, and El Viejo opens weekdays 08:00–20:00 and weekends 08:00–15:00.

In Chapinero, DIOSA Café at Carrera 4 #54-24 opens Tuesday to Sunday 09:00–20:00, and Roots Café is at Calle 57 #7-51. Further north, Charlies Cafe at Carrera 8D #106-84 in Usaquén serves 06:00–12:00 from Monday to Saturday, and Fresco Pan 2 in Suba runs daily 07:00–22:00.

Outlets, power banks and laptop manners

Outlets are the weak point. Colombia Move advises checking wall and perimeter seats first, arriving early and carrying a 20,000 mAh power bank. It also asks laptop users to order reasonably, keep their voices down and avoid taking a large table during the lunch rush.3

Secta Cafetera's 2026 guide points to Chapinero Alto and the Calle 93 area for roomy cafés with fast Wi-Fi.4 On any open network, Colombia Move recommends a VPN, and a phone hotspot rather than café Wi-Fi for banking or anything that needs a password.3

Free public Wi-Fi in Bogotá

The city runs its own free network. In May 2026 the Alcaldía published WiFiMap Bogotá, a map of 434 free Wi-Fi zones across all 20 localidades (boroughs), covering TransMilenio portals and bus stops, parks, hospitals and plazas de mercado (municipal food markets). It sits on mapas.bogota.gov.co under "conectividad pública gratuita a internet".1

Sessions are short. In parks and plazoletas (small squares) the network is called WiFi Bogotá and gives 45 minutes at a time, renewable as often as you like; at TransMilenio stations and smart bus stops the limit is 10 minutes. At the 18 district food markets, the username and password are posted on a notice.2 Zones run by the city's ICT office were upgraded to 200 Mbps symmetric in the 18 months before May 2026.1
