E. Pellicci on Bethnal Green Road was opened by Tuscan immigrants in 1900 and takes its initial from Elide, wife of Priamo Pellicci, who worked there from that year.3 The building and its Art Deco interior were listed Grade II in 2005.3 From Bethnal Green, Roman Road runs east to Old Ford through Bow, and Victoria Park closes off the area to the north-east.21

The coffee follows the markets and the park: Columbia Road on Sunday mornings, Roman Road on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and Victoria Park, opened in 1845 and nicknamed the People's Park, every day of the week.421

Local tip: Columbia Road's stalls trade only on Sunday, 08:00–14:00; Hermanos Colombian Coffee Roasters at No. 124 is on the market strip, and E. Pellicci, closed on Sundays, is best saved for a Saturday.4
