Medellín ranked 23rd worldwide in Nomads' 2026 data on where remote workers travel, with 0.62% of the 423,594 trips logged, and was the only Colombian city in the top 30. One expert quoted by El Colombiano credited the mild temperatures that last almost all year.1
Cafés are a smaller part of that workday than they look. In the same survey, 58% of nomads said they work from home, 15% from coworking spaces and 8% from cafés.1 For the laptop crowd that does choose a café, the habits below matter more than the speed of the connection.
Local tip: For a full working day in Laureles, Semilla Café on Calle 39C opens 08:00–20:30 Monday to Saturday and rents desks on its upstairs coworking floor by the day, week or month.2
Where these cafés are: Laureles–Estadio (8), El Poblado (6), Belén & Guayabal (5), Provenza & Parque Lleras (4), El Centro (3), La América & Calasanz (2), Aranjuez & the north (1).

Laureles–Estadio has the most cafés with Wi-Fi, followed by El Poblado, then Belén & Guayabal and Provenza & Parque Lleras. El Centro has a handful. A marketing consultant quoted by El Colombiano described a zone of El Poblado with many foreigners and many coworking spaces.1
In Laureles, Café Revolución at Carrera 73 #4-10 opens at 07:00 every day and closes at 19:00 (18:00 on Sundays). Zule Coffee at Nutibara opens daily 07:00–21:00. Cabina Literaria at Carrera 76 #74-04 opens Monday to Saturday 10:00–20:00, and Matchacá on Calle 39D daily 10:00–20:00.
Across the river, Be Network at Carrera 30 #10C-134 opens weekdays 08:00–21:00, and General Cafe Bar at Calle 13 #43D-84 in El Poblado opens daily at 07:00, until 21:00 from Thursday to Sunday. Downtown, Diostedé Café at Carrera 49 #52-107 opens daily 08:00–20:00.
Medellín cafés differ a lot in how they handle laptops. Medellín Guru found a laptop zone with tables, plugs and Wi-Fi at Café Revolución in Laureles.2 Café Zeppelin, by contrast, has few power outlets for long laptop sessions.3
Opening hours decide how long a session can run. Uno mas uno at Circular 4 #71-03 opens at 09:30 Monday to Saturday and stays until 21:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. In La América, Mi Buñuelo opens every day from 09:00 to 21:00, and in Belén, AROS&GARCIA at Calle 32EE #80C-63 stays open around the clock from Monday to Saturday. Half Half Travel's advice for Medellín cafés is to keep your phone and laptop secure.4
In Provenza, Como pez en el agua on Carrera 35 and Master Sandwich and Co at Calle 8 #35-33 have Wi-Fi too.
A few cafés double as coworking spaces, which settles the question of how long you can stay. Semilla Café Coworking in Laureles has a café on the ground floor and, upstairs, desks, cubicles and booths for video calls, with subscriptions by the day, week or month.2 Its own site advertises fast Wi-Fi and the open-plan coworking floor.6
Altrove in Guayabal, at Carrera 65 #2A-26, puts coworking in its name next to restaurant and café, and has outdoor tables as well as Wi-Fi. When Medellín Guru reviewed Semilla in 2021, its day pass included unlimited coffee along with the upstairs workspace.5
The city runs its own free network, Medellín Digital. It reached 411 points in December 2025 after 11 new ones were installed, among them Parque Lleras and Pueblito Paisa, and logged more than 40 million connections that year. The points cover all 16 comunas (city districts) and five rural corregimientos.7
That makes Parque Lleras a fallback if a café's connection drops: the cafés of Provenza are a few blocks away, including Al Alma at Calle 8 #35-37 and Versos café at Carrera 36 #7-10.
