Airport Residential is the first neighborhood most visitors see. meQasa splits it in two: Airport City, the high-rise strip along Liberation Road with the Marina Mall, hotels and banks, and the residential side across from the airport, with the Chinese Embassy, the Association International School and the Alliance Française d'Accra.1
The airport took back its original name in February 2026 and is again Accra International Airport; its code stays ACC.2 It had been Kotoka International since 1969.3 Airport Residential and Airport City have the widest choice of cafés in Accra, from Café Kwae at One Airport Square to Theia Coffee House on John Churcher Loop.
Local tip: At D Cafe a cappuccino with soy or almond milk costs GH₵50, five cedis more than one made with dairy.10

Theia Coffee House on John Churcher Loop is a garden café; Spark Magazine lists frappes, café lattes, panini, savory crêpes and wraps, and a regular crowd of students and artists.9
D Cafe pairs a bakery counter with outdoor seating. Croissants run from GH₵30 plain to GH₵40 for almond or cheese, an espresso costs GH₵35, a double GH₵40 and an iced mocha GH₵60.10
Smaller places fill the western streets: Cuppa Cappuccino on Volta Street, Zara Coffee Shop at 64 Patrice Lumumba Street and honeycomp Cafe at 97 Kwame Ofori Street, along with Escapade Cafe/Bistro, Mercedes Cafe, Café Barbera Ghana, Beans n cream and Cafe Barako. meQasa's 2014 guide already counted Josie's Cuppa Cappuccino Café among the area's dining spots, alongside Ci Gusta for Italian food and gelato.1
Airport City has other diversions between coffees: the Marina Mall, with Lebanese food at Yasmina and sushi at Soho, and Polo Court, which meQasa called Accra's only polo court, with an Italian restaurant and apartments attached.1
