In Athens brunch is mostly a café kitchen’s job. Koukaki & Makrygianni has the most brunch cafés, ahead of Monastiraki & Psyrri, and in both most brunch kitchens open by 08:00.
The specialty roasters have joined in. The Underdog serves brunch at weekends at its Thiseio flagship, and Kudu Coffee Roasters adds brunch and desserts to its two house blends; Goodhood in Zografou also serves brunch and sandwiches.1
Local tip: Go on a weekday if you can: The Brunchers serves the same menu from 08:00 Monday to Friday, closing at 16:00 rather than 18:00.2

Psyrri: Agias Theklas and Christokopidou
The Brunchers, at Agias Theklas 5, sits on a pedestrian street it calls one of the most beautiful in Athens. It serves eggs Benedict with bacon, pastrami or smoked salmon, a Thessaloniki bun with Mykonos pork, aged gruyère and two poached eggs, and vegan energy bowls, from 08:00 to 16:00 on weekdays and to 18:00 at weekends.2
A block away, Picky at Christokopidou 14 keeps its kitchen open 07:30–17:00 every day, with smoked-salmon eggs Benedict, tiramisu pancakes, a vegan avocado toast and coffee from Taf.3 Happy Blender on Ifestou, by Monastiraki, adds vegan dishes and bakes.
Koukaki and Makrygianni
On Veikou, Το διάβα at no. 28 serves brunch 07:30–20:00 daily, and Migniardise bakes on the same street. Lostre Cafe, at Theodoritou Vresthenis 1, starts brunch at 08:00 and stays open until midnight, with Wi-Fi and outdoor tables, and Tempo Social Club at Falirou 49 combines a bakery with brunch and outdoor seating.
Hippy Hippo, on Anastasiou Zinni, keeps a simple brunch menu with handmade sweets and salads.4
Thiseio, Petralona and Kolonaki
The Underdog occupies a neoclassical building at Iraklidon 8, and its weekend brunch draws on a menu of yogurt and pancakes, served on a large terrace.15 It opens at 08:00 every day.
In Petralona, Μουρ Μουρ at Kallisthenous 90 serves brunch from 09:00 and stays open until 01:00. In Kolonaki, L’Arrêt du Temps on Vasileos Alexandrou serves brunch from 09:00, and in Exarchia, NuffSaid.Athens at Didotou 31 does so from 08:00 on weekdays and 09:00 at weekends, until 20:00.
Further afield
Samba Coffee Roasters’ larger venue, at Laskaridou 7 in Ampelokipoi, bakes desserts every day and is open 08:00–21:00.1 In Kerameikos, Latraac, a skatepark with a café, serves brunch from 12:00, and Tailor’s friends on Keramikou opens at 09:00. Toucan, at Karpou 64 in Neos Kosmos, serves brunch 07:00–20:00 on weekdays and closes at weekends, and in Plaka, Acron Café & Bistro on Athanasiou Diakou serves brunch too.
A Greek breakfast instead
For an older kind of morning, Στάνη, the milk bar near Omonia, serves sheep’s-milk yogurt with walnuts and honey, anthógalo (fior di latte), rizógalo (rice pudding) and loukoumádes, small doughnuts drenched in honey.6 Bougatsa, phyllo filled with custard or cheese, is eaten for breakfast or as a mid-morning snack, and SANTE on Filellinon, near Syntagma, is a bougatsa shop.7
Coffee with brunch costs about what it does anywhere else in the city: in Pricefox’s 2026 delivery-price comparison for Attica, freddo cappuccino ran €2.30–3.00 and Greek coffee €1.20–2.50.8
