The Makati Central Business District is privately owned and covers the barangays of Bel-Air, San Antonio, San Lorenzo and Urdaneta, between EDSA, Ayala Avenue and Gil Puyat Avenue.1 Ayala Avenue, finished in 1958, follows part of the runway of Nielson Field, the country's first commercial airport, and Ayala Triangle Gardens now sits on the old airfield.1
