Wiedikon is Kreis 3, made up of Alt-Wiedikon, Sihlfeld and Friesenberg, and it was a separate municipality until 1893. It covers 8.65 km² and had 45,885 residents at the end of 2005.1 Zürich Wiedikon station is one of the few Swiss stations built as a bridge, with its building straight over the tracks.1

This is a residential district, and its cafés are neighborhood places. They cluster on Zurlindenstrasse, Weststrasse and Sihlfeldstrasse, around Kalanderplatz at Sihlcity, and at the community center in Heuried.

Local tip: Kafi Dihei on Zurlindenstrasse serves its z'Morge until 16:00, which makes it a late-breakfast option, but it is closed on Tuesdays.4
