Open late cafés in Zurich
Café-bars that serve past 22:00: the Odeon at Bellevue, Henrici and Raffael's in the Niederdorf, Metropol on Fraumünsterstrasse and Café des Amis in Wipkingen.
Late hours in Zurich need permission. The cantonal hospitality law keeps venues shut from midnight to 05:00 unless other hours are approved, and the city tends to grant extensions to 04:00 on weeknights and 05:00 at weekends.12 Cafés stay well inside those limits, and the Odeon's 02:00 is the latest closing among them.
The Old Town has far more late cafés than any other district, with Zürich-West a distant second. Coffee with schnapps suits the hour: Henrici lists its Kafi Luz at CHF 9, made with plum schnapps, sugar, hot water and a shot of coffee.3
Local tip: On a Sunday night, when Metropol and Café des Amis have closed at 18:00, the Odeon at Limmatquai 2 is open until midnight.4
