District 7 lies south of the center, and since July 2025 its land has been split among the Tân Hưng, Tân Thuận, Phú Thuận, Tân Mỹ and Nhà Bè wards.4 Tân Hưng, about 5 km south of the center, merged the old Tân Phong, Tân Quy, Tân Kiểng and Tân Hưng wards; with neighboring Tân Mỹ it forms Zone A of Phú Mỹ Hưng.1

Phú Mỹ Hưng is the planned town begun in 1993 by a joint venture between Taiwan's CT&D group and the city government.3 Cafés here split between its blocks and the older streets to the north around Lâm Văn Bền, which has the district's tightest cluster of cafés.

Phú Mỹ Hưng's planned blocks

Sumatra Coffee is at 8 Lê Văn Thiêm, Si Cafe at 208 Phạm Thái Bường, and Nhà Phan - Cafe & Bánh Mì in the Hưng Phước 1 block. RoLu Cookies & Cakes on Nguyễn Đức Cảnh opens Monday to Saturday, 09:00–18:00.

Lâm Văn Bền and the older streets

North of the planned town, Lâm Văn Bền has Cà Phê Du Mục, Cà Phê Ribi at 88 and Cà Phê Mạnh at 195, with Cà Phê Richy round the corner on Mai Văn Vĩnh. Cà Phê Long Béo in Tân Quy Đông opens 06:00–22:00, and Cà Phê Rino Aquarium, in an alley at 147/3 Lê Văn Lương, never closes.
