Café da manhã, literally morning coffee, is the Portuguese word for breakfast, and in São Paulo it runs from a quick coffee at the counter to a weekend buffet. The big padarias do both. At the 24-hour Bella Paulista on Rua Haddock Lobo the breakfast buffet starts at 07:00; in early 2024 it cost R$58 on weekdays and R$86 on weekends and holidays.1
ST Etienne, with 24-hour branches on Alameda Joaquim Eugênio de Lima in Jardins and on Avenida Diógenes Ribeiro de Lima in Alto de Pinheiros, lays out a buffet of more than 50 items on weekends and holidays until 11:15, then serves brunch until 16:00.1 At Dona Deôla, the weekend buffet from 07:00 cost R$52.80 a person in early 2024, with children under five free and ages five to ten at half price.1
Local tip: For a padaria buffet, arrive early: ST Etienne's weekend breakfast buffet ends at 11:15, before the brunch menu starts, while Bella Paulista's begins at 07:00.1

Café Girondino, at Rua Boa Vista, 365 in the old center, swapped its weekend buffet for a brunch served at the table on Saturday and Sunday: about ten items, from scrambled eggs and bacon to muffins, fruit salad, yogurt, house jam, coffee and orange juice, at R$79 a person or R$150 for two.2 It also launched Girondino Viagem, a takeaway counter with self-service ordering.2
Smaller cafés sell breakfast as a set. In August 2026, TATIO, on the ground floor of Passeio Paulista on Rua Bela Cintra, charged R$29 for its clássico breakfast and R$39 for the encorpado, with an espresso at R$10; Nouzin Café in Pinheiros charged R$37 for an omelet with bacon and levain toast.3
Padaria counters cost less. Procon-SP's September 2026 averages put a misto quente (ham-and-cheese toastie) at R$22.97, a glass of orange juice at R$16.40 and a medium cappuccino at R$15.06.4
Jardins and Itaim Bibi have the most brunch cafés. Pão has two branches, at Rua Bela Cintra, 1618 in Jardins and at Rua Mourato Coelho, 1039 in Vila Madalena; the second opens daily 08:00–19:00 and has sidewalk tables. Jardins also has a bakery café serving brunch at Rua Oscar Freire, 914.
In Itaim Bibi, Ça-va Café, on Avenida Brigadeiro Faria Lima, 4055, serves from 07:00 Monday to Saturday and from 08:00 to 17:00 on Sunday, with a bakery counter. Ethos Café, at Rua do Rocio, 350 in Vila Olímpia, has Wi-Fi and outdoor tables.
Not every brunch is a weekend affair. Bio Barista Cafés Especiais, a specialty coffee bar at Rua Helvétia, 640, serves brunch Monday to Friday only, 08:00–18:00, and is closed at weekends.
Two cake and dessert cafés with brunch menus sit on the edge of the center. Sorbing Korean Dessert Cafe, at Rua Prates, 547 in Bom Retiro, opens Monday to Saturday 08:00–21:00, late enough for brunch at any hour of the afternoon. Soa Cake, at Rua Castro Alves, 507 in Aclimação, adds a bakery counter and Wi-Fi.
