Sla Kram (ស្លក្រាម) is one of the sangkats (urban communes) of Siem Reap; its eight villages include Sla Kram itself, Treang, Dak Pou and Mondol 3.1 Angkor Wat lies about 6 km north of town, and a 5 km road on the temple's south side carries the name of Charles de Gaulle, the French president who visited Angkor in 1966.23
Wat Bo and Taphul have more cafés, but Sla Kram has more with outdoor seating than anywhere else in town. They range from garden cafés on village lanes to tables along Preah Sihanouk Avenue and the market roads.
Local tip: Buy your Angkor pass online the day before, then pick up a coffee at The Corner Cafe II on 20 Ousaphea Street when it opens at 06:00.

The museum road
The Angkor National Museum, at 968 Charles de Gaulle Boulevard, opened on 12 November 2007 and presents its collection in eight galleries, one of them the Gallery of 1,000 Buddha.45
Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor stands at 1 Vithei Charles de Gaulle.5 Cambodia Tea Time is further along the same road, in Tro Peung Ses village.
Coffee before the temples
Visitors may enter the Angkor park from 05:00, and the temples open at sunrise.2 As of 2026 a one-day pass costs US$37 and a three-day pass, used within seven days, US$62; Angkor Enterprise sells both on its website.6 Bicycle rental shops in town mostly open around 07:00, so a dawn ride means renting the evening before.25 By car or motorbike Angkor is about 20 minutes away, and Wikivoyage suggests reaching the temples by 08:00 rather than 09:00 to stay ahead of the crowds.2
The Corner Cafe II, on 20 Ousaphea Street, opens at 06:00 and closes at 19:30. Grace Café, PINK Coffee, M21-Café and POPLE Cafe & Tours on Preah Sihanouk Avenue follow at 07:00. Smoothies Coffee is on Sivatha Boulevard, at the southern edge of Sla Kram.
The 1961
The 1961 Coffee and Art Space, on 20 Ousaphea Street, opened in 2011 as the Hotel and Gallery 1961, a place for visiting artists to stay, and reopened in July 2014 as a coworking space and studios used mostly by Cambodian artists.7
Its founder, Loven Ramos, moved to Cambodia from the Philippines; with his wife Faith he runs it as an exhibition space and café that hosts workshops, flea markets, theater and film premieres.78 It opens daily 07:00–19:00, with tables indoors and outside, and takes cards.
Market streets and Street 60
Away from the boulevards, M21-Café is at 21 Psar Dam Krolanh Road East (07:00–18:00), Wheel Garden Cafe on Prem Prey Market Street 3, Bloom Garden Coffee in Treang village and Street Coffee on the riverside in Mondol 3.1
At the northern edge of the area, Tropic Cafe and Samnang Cafe, at 53 Street 60, share a road, while Fame Cafe and Pro Coffee are out on National Road 6. PINK Coffee shuts earliest, at 15:30, so plan it for the morning. Pi Riel Coffee, one of the coffee shops Wikivoyage names in town, is in Sla Kram too.5
