Taphul takes its name from Ta Phul (តាភុល), one of 14 villages in Svay Dangkum, the sangkat (urban commune) that also covers the Mondol villages around the center.1 Taphul Road, its spine, runs west of Kandal Village, with wide, flat pavements and many restaurants.2
Only Wat Bo has more cafés. They gather in three places: on Taphul Road itself, along Street 53 (Funky Lane in some addresses), and in the lanes around the Angkor Night Market, about a four-minute walk from Pub Street.3
Local tip: Take breakfast at the Bayon Coffee Shop and come back to Taphul after 17:00, when the night market opens; The Source on Taphul Road pours coffee until 22:00.
