Prolongación Montejo carries Paseo de Montejo north. The first extension, 440 m, came in 1926 and the second in 1950; the third, 2,600 m long, was built in 1979, and by 2018 the full avenue ran more than 6 km from the Monumento a los Montejo to the Torre Bancaria.1 The northern stretch was once called Paseo Nachi Cocom.2
Farther north, the Gran Museo del Mundo Maya opened in September 2012 after an investment of 770 million pesos, with a metal structure honoring the ceiba, a tree native to the Maya region.3 The cafés spread across fraccionamientos (housing estates) such as Las Américas and along avenues like Andrés García Lavín.

Coffee on Prolongación Montejo
Amadeo Café, at Prolongación Paseo de Montejo 306, is an Argentine café run by Alejandro, from Buenos Aires, and Steph, from Mexico, who have been making family recipes since 2015: alfajores, house-made dulce de leche, sourdough and yerba mate, with specialty coffee.4 The favorite is a dulce de leche latte, and mate comes hot, cold, as a latte or as a frappé.4
It opens Monday to Friday 08:00–17:00, with Wi-Fi and tables for work. Café Origen Tostadores is in the Centro Comercial Campestre at No. 250, and Rosquillas & Coffee is at Calle 60 #299c. Amadeo also runs a first-mate workshop, with history, ritual and tasting, for people who have never prepared the drink.4
Ictze on Avenida García Lavín
Ictze Coffee Roasters is on Avenida Andrés García Lavín between Calles 43 and 45. Café Ictze, based in Cancún, says it searches out Mexican beans "from the farm to the cup", and it also designs and runs coffee bars for hotels and restaurants.5

Condesa Barra de Café has two bars, one in the Condesa building in the center and one in Cordemex, near the Gran Museo del Mundo Maya; it is known for its lattes, a Nutella frappé and waffle churros.6
Snow Drop, a Korean café in Plaza Altana at Calle 43 #176 in Pinzón, opens daily 11:30–21:30. It serves bingsu (shaved ice with fruit and toppings), waffles, frappés and Korean ramen, and has board games, a K-pop playlist and fan merchandise.6
