Nha Trang's main beach runs about 6 km south of the Cái river, and Trần Phú, the avenue behind it, is where most visitors spend the day; Vietnamese visitors come down to the sand mostly at sunrise and sunset.1 Russian visitors have long been a mainstay, and their numbers are climbing again: Khánh Hòa province counted about 279,000 Russian arrivals from January to August 2025, almost four times as many as a year earlier.12

The cafés follow the same map, with the largest share in the tourist quarter behind the beach. Mây Rooftop Coffee on Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai never closes. Smoothie shops and lime-tea counters sit among the cafés: F4M Sinh To on Trần Phú, 1975 - Tiệm Trà Chanh on Hàn Tuyên near Chợ Đầm, and Sinh Tố Thiên Nhiên in Vĩnh Phước, which keeps 06:00–23:00.

Two addresses stand apart. Quán Cà Phê Đường Tàu at 66a Nguyễn Trãi backs onto the railway, and six or seven passenger trains pass it each day, mostly 07:00–07:30 and 18:00–20:00.3 South of the center on Bửu Đóa, H79 Coffee & Tea and Tiệm Caphe 1975 both open at 06:00; H79 serves until 23:00, Tiệm Caphe 1975 until 22:00.

Vietnamese coffee drips through a phin, a small metal filter, and comes black (cà phê đen) or with sweetened condensed milk (cà phê sữa), usually over ice; ask for nóng if you want it hot.45 The condensed milk goes back to a time when fresh milk was scarce and spoiled fast, and dark-roast robusta proved the bean that stands up to it.4

Sinh tố is a blended fruit shake named after its fruit, so sinh tố bơ is avocado.5 Trà chanh, lime tea, is iced tea sweetened and soured with lime. VnExpress described it in 2011 as a Hanoi sidewalk craze that began at stalls around Nhà Thờ street, at 10,000₫ a glass.6 In Nha Trang, Tiệm Trà Chanh Cột Điện 32 on Lê Thanh Nghị charges about 10,000–30,000₫ a drink as of 2026.7

Tipping isn't a Vietnamese habit, and cafés that serve tourists don't expect it either.5 Even small shops display a QR code for bank-transfer payment, though foreign phones can't always use it; cards are taken in more places each year, and cash still works almost everywhere.5 Wi-Fi is usually free, and people come to cafés to work as well as to drink.5
