On the beach before 06:00

A 2020 provincial news report described residents heading to the sea from about 04:00 to swim, walk, practice dưỡng sinh (slow health exercises) and work out on the public fitness equipment along the shore.³

The beach is about 6 km long, backed by a promenade of walking paths, gardens and monuments, which makes a long walk easy before the sun gets high.² The water is calm but gets deep very quickly, so swim with that in mind.²

Cafés that open at 06:00

The early cafés are spread across the city: the beachfront district has the most, with Vĩnh Hải and the south next. Bean House Coffee at 31E Biệt Thự keeps a 06:00–18:00 day, while Hoan nguyen quan 2 opens at the same hour and stays open until midnight. In Vĩnh Hải, ĐẮK Coffee & Tea is at 16 Phạm Ngọc Thạch, and Sinh Tố Thiên Nhiên in Vĩnh Phước adds brunch to its 06:00 start.

South of the center, Bửu Đóa street has two early openers, H79 Coffee & Tea at 36A and Tiệm Caphe 1975 at 29. Alam Coffee Roastery near Chợ Đầm is the specialty roaster in the group, and Quán Cà Phê Đường Tàu at 66a Nguyễn Trãi covers Phước Tân.

Half an hour later, at 06:30, Egg Coffee cafe on Trịnh Phong, Money on Nguyễn Thiện Thuật, LÈNG Coffee & More on Hiến Quyền and Red Brick Bakery & Coffee open their doors.

Breakfast at Chợ Đầm

Chợ Đầm, the central market, is shaped like a lotus flower, 67 m across and two floors high, and it opens daily from 05:00 to 18:30.⁴ Its breakfast vendors serve bún chả cá (rice noodles with fish cake), bánh ướt (steamed rice sheets) and bánh hỏi, fine vermicelli with grilled pork and herbs. Arrive before 09:00 for the best choice.⁵

Bún chả cá is the dish locals eat for breakfast, and at Bún Chả Cá 46 a bowl costs 40,000₫ as of 2026.⁵

Early hours through the year

Mornings count most in the dry half of the year. March, April and May each log more than 256 hours of sunshine, and mean daily highs keep rising until June, when they reach 32.7°C.⁶ From September to December the city gets most of its rain, and by December highs average 27.3°C, with January lows of 21.4°C.⁶
