Open late cafés in Almaty

24-hour coffee on Gogol and Kabanbay Batyr, Tole Bi lounges until 02:00 and midnight closings in Bostandyk.

Coffee in Kazakhstan sells mostly before lunch, with half a café's takings in by 13:00, so the places still serving at night are a different crowd: lounges, time cafés and round-the-clock counters.1

Golden Square and Auezov & Sairan in the west have the most late cafés, ahead of Bostandyk. The 24-hour ones are central, on Gogol, Kabanbay Batyr and Auezov streets and on Zein Shashkin Street near Republic Square.

Local tip: Check the weekday: Wuqqa on Tole Bi stays open an hour later on Fridays and Saturdays, and LaDoni in Mamyr-1 is closed on Mondays.

Open around the clock

Coffee Original at Gogol 75 never closes and has Wi-Fi, air-conditioning and an outdoor terrace; Coffee Orginal at Kabanbay Batyr 117 is open 24 hours with Wi-Fi as well. Hot Point at Auezov 56A runs through the night with indoor and outdoor tables, and Violet at Zein Shashkin 5V serves brunch at any hour.

They cover the hours when the metro is shut: Almaty's single line runs from 06:20 to midnight.2

Until midnight and beyond

Wuqqa at Tole Bi 65 opens at 13:00 and closes at 01:00, or 02:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. Динара (Dinara) at Zhambyl 198 serves until 01:00.

Midnight is the common late closing. Voronka and Usta Türik kafesi on Zheltoksan, Shaden Coffee at Abay 47, Coffee Time at Auezov 106 and Milky Cafe on Serkebayev Avenue all close at 00:00, and Adriano Coffee runs from 07:30 to midnight. In Bostandyk, Arizona Coffee Almaty and Coffee Mill on Rozybakiev Street both close at 23:00, and in Almaly, Eva Coffee House on Auezov Street serves 07:00–23:00. In Samal, Nova Cafe opens 11:00–00:00 and Терренкур on Lugansky Street serves until 23:00.

Further west, LaDoni in Mamyr-1 opens 13:00–00:00 from Tuesday to Sunday, Maida in Aksay-4 serves 11:00–00:00, and Райский сад (Raisky Sad, "paradise garden") keeps 10:00–00:00.

Time cafés and anticafés

Time Cafe "Relax" on Shalyapin Street is open 10:00–02:00 every day and has Wi-Fi. In an антикафе (anticafé) the bill is for time rather than food: in 2026 TimeKafe on Altynsarin Avenue charged 1,100 ₸ for the first hour and 19 ₸ a minute after that, or 5,500 ₸ for unlimited time, with tea, coffee, board games and Wi-Fi included.3

The idea came from Moscow, where Tsiferblat opened in autumn 2011 at one ruble a minute; by November 2014 several hundred had opened in more than eight countries.4

Late in the center

In the Golden Square, Shecker Coffee at Kurmangazy 9A and Main Street Сafe on Shevchenko Street close at 23:00, Алма on Kabanbay Batyr at 23:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, and Sana Kitchen on Abylai Khan Avenue and Кафе Плюс on Zheltoksan at 22:00. Near the Arbat, La Bosco on Gogol serves until 23:00.

Late in the west

The metro's western end, Bauyrzhan Momyshuly station, opened in 2022 together with Sary-Arka.2 On Momyshuly Street nearby, El Coffee is smoke-free, has Wi-Fi and serves 10:00–22:00. Jurtam on Ryskulov Street keeps 11:00–23:00, Lakomka Foods 08:00–23:00, and Opetit and Золотая долина close at 22:00; Marani opens 10:00–00:00 on weekdays only.
