North of the lake lie the university, the pine valleys and the road out to Lang Biang. Dalat University was founded in 1957 by the Council of Vietnamese Catholic Bishops as Viện Đại học Đà Lạt, and its campus covers a hilly 40 hectares north of Xuân Hương Lake.3 The Valley of Love lies about 5 km north of the center.1

Beyond the town, K'Ho farmers on the slopes of Lang Biang have grown arabica since the 1940s.5 The north has more cafés open until 22:00 or later than any other part of town, along with some of the earliest openers.

Local tip: K'Ho Coffee's farm café closes at 16:00 and all day Sunday, so ride out toward Lang Biang in the morning and keep the north's late cafés for the evening.5

Up to Lang Biang and the K'Ho farms

The farm descends from arabica seeds that Brai Co Lieng took from French trees in the 1940s; the cooperative, founded in 2012, works with 50 K'Ho families and farms organically, and its coffee scores 84–89 in cupping tests.5 Vietnam Coracle puts the farm about 10 km north of town, and Twin Beans Farm, a coffee shop and farmstay about 20 km north under Lang Biang, served specialty coffee and tea at 50,000–70,000₫ in 2022, down a rough access road.6
