This area takes in the streets just north of the center: Bùi Thị Xuân, which Vietnam Coracle calls one of the busier ones, Phan Đình Phùng, Nguyễn Công Trứ, Trương Công Định and the lanes up toward Hai Bà Trưng.7 Bùi Thị Xuân also has one of the town's classic hotpot restaurants, Tao Ngộ, roadside and open-fronted.7

The coffee here leans practical, a roaster that mills its own beans and a run of small neighborhood cafés, with music on Trương Công Định in the evening.5 About half of the area's cafés offer Wi-Fi.

Local tip: Ask at Là Việt for the free tour of the processing area,1 then buy a bag of beans roasted on site before you leave.2

Là Việt on Nguyễn Công Trứ

Là Việt Coffee's Đà Lạt flagship is a big warehouse-style room on Nguyễn Công Trứ that smells of roasting arabica, and visitors can take a free tour of the processing area.1 Behind the café sits a dry mill that can handle a tonne of green beans an hour: the company grows, processes, roasts and serves its own coffee, with washed, natural and honey-processed lots in rotation.2

Its founder, Trần Nhật Quang, a former professor, spent four years buying small arabica lots from farms around Đà Lạt before opening, aiming to show that Vietnamese arabica can stand beside better-known origins.2 A 2026 coffee guide calls it the most coffee-focused address in town, and a pour-over here costs about 55,000–100,000₫ as of 2026.83

Domaine de Marie and the hill streets

Domaine de Marie, the pink limestone church that locals call the Cherry Church, stands on a hill at the area's edge. Work began in 1940 and it was inaugurated in November 1942.4 Suzanne Humbert, wife of Governor-General Jean Decoux, donated its statue of the Virgin Mary, and her remains lie in the church after her death in a traffic accident in 1944; in 2007, 23 Daughters of Charity nuns still lived in the convent.4

Vườn Yên is in Hẻm 6 Mai Anh, and Thông Thiên Học has Daily Log at No. 15 and K.A. Coffee, which opens early, 06:00–21:00.

Cafés in this part of town tend to close by 21:00, so later evenings move to the hotpot tables on Bùi Thị Xuân, where Tao Ngộ at No. 155 serves lẩu gà lá é (chicken hotpot with lá é leaves) until 23:00.7
