Two roads follow the Hàn river through central Da Nang: Bạch Đằng on the west bank and Trần Hưng Đạo on the east. Each has its own short run of cafés with a river address, Indochine Box on the west bank and Marina Coffee on the east among them.
The two sides have different jobs. Since June 2024 the Bạch Đằng side has been a pedestrian street running about 1.2 km from the Dragon Bridge to the Trần Thị Lý bridge, with kiosks, public restrooms and free Wi-Fi points over roughly 8 hectares.3 The east bank has the dragon's head and the grandstand for the city's fireworks festival.26
Local tip: Choose your bank by the hour: the east bank on Trần Hưng Đạo for the 21:00 dragon show from Friday to Sunday, the west-bank kiosks on Bạch Đằng for sunrise from 04:00.
Where these cafés are: Sơn Trà (3), Hải Châu (3).

The Dragon Bridge opened to traffic on 29 March 2013 and is 666 m long, with six lanes.1 At 21:00 every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holiday, the dragon breathes fire for about two minutes and water for about three.1 Its head is at the east end, on the Trần Hưng Đạo side.2
Traffic on the bridge stops around 20:45, and crowds start gathering from about 19:00. Standing on the bridge near the head gets you close and wet; the platforms just off it on Trần Hưng Đạo keep you dry.2
In 2024 two kiosk cafés on the pedestrian street began opening at 04:00, and hundreds of people now come to watch the sun rise over the river around 05:00, most leaving by 06:00.4 One of them is run by Trình, a Da Nang brand known for avocado coffee served in a Dragon Bridge cup; its kiosk, the first one by the bridge, has upstairs seating and a rooftop.34
In the evening the same stretch has nearly 30 kiosks and a calendar of street performances.4
Near the Hàn market, which backs onto Bạch Đằng, the 487.7 m Han River Bridge swings its middle section open around 23:00 on Saturdays and Sundays to let boats through.75 The market hall itself, bounded by Bạch Đằng, Trần Phú, Hùng Vương and Nguyễn Thái Học, was rebuilt in 1990 on two floors.7
Each summer the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival puts its grandstand along Trần Hưng Đạo, facing a stage on the river. The 2026 edition ran from 30 May to 11 July, with VVIP seats for the opening and final nights at 4 million ₫.6
West bank: Danang Souvenirs & Cafe at 34 Bạch Đằng, Indochine Box cà phê at 40 Bạch Đằng, which has Wi-Fi, and Dừa Bến Tre (dừa means coconut) at 190 Bạch Đằng.
East bank: Marina Coffee on Trần Hưng Đạo is open 07:00–23:00, Minori 07:00–22:30, and Time Coffee sits at 509 Trần Hưng Đạo. Marina and Minori both stay open well past the 21:00 dragon show. Marina doubles as a bakery; Minori has Wi-Fi and limited wheelchair access.
