Late in Tallinn means different things by season. In June the evening light lasts long, with more than 18 hours 40 minutes of daylight at the solstice; at the December solstice there are under 6 hours 5 minutes.1 A café open until 22:00 is a summer terrace in one season and a lit window in the other. The Christmas tree goes up on Town Hall Square in mid-November, and the season, with its Christmas market, runs from Advent Sunday into early January.2

Most Tallinn cafés close by 19:00 even on their longest day. The City Center has the most that stay open late, ahead of the Old Town and Kalamaja & Telliskivi, and only a few pour coffee past 23:00.

Local tip: Kehrwieder pours coffee until 01:00 only on Friday and Saturday nights; on other nights it closes at 23:00.3

Where these cafés are: City Center (8), Old Town (5), Kalamaja & Telliskivi (2), Kristiine & Mustamäe (2), Ülemiste & Lasnamäe (1), Rotermann & the Port (1).
