A terrass (terrace) in Tallinn has a short, bright season. July is the warmest month at an average of 17.6 °C, against −3.6 °C in February, and around midsummer the sky stays light for more than 18 hours 40 minutes.1 In summer, restaurants and cafés spill out onto terraces and the parks host open-air concerts.2

The Old Town has the most cafés with outdoor tables, just ahead of Kalamaja & Telliskivi, with the City Center third. Kadriorg & Pirita has fewer, but there a larger share of cafés put seats outside than in any other part of the city.

Local tip: Herne Kohvik's terrace faces the Kalevi club's sand courts, so a summer afternoon there comes with a tennis match.8

Where these cafés are: Old Town (8), Kalamaja & Telliskivi (7), City Center (6), Kadriorg & Pirita (4), Rotermann & the Port (3), Kristiine & Mustamäe (3).
