Reggeli is Hungarian for breakfast, and a reggeliző is a place that serves it, as in Cafe INjoy Reggeliző on Vaskapu utca in Ferencváros, open 08:00–16:00 on weekdays. Gerbeaud on Vörösmarty tér serves breakfast 09:00–14:00, with egg dishes made from three eggs and served with sourdough bread.1 Its autumn 2026 menu prices Mangalica ham and eggs at 4,190 Ft, eggs Benedict at 7,950 Ft and the Gerbeaud breakfast for one, with avocado toast, an omelette with Mangalica bacon, granola, coffee or tea and orange juice, at 14,500 Ft, before a 15% service charge.1 Mangalica is a Hungarian pig breed with a thick, curly coat, developed in the mid-1800s.2

District V (Belváros-Lipótváros) has the most brunch cafés, with Erzsébetváros second. Deszka on Veres Pálné utca 31 opens at 08:30, Muse on Petőfi Sándor utca at 08:00 on weekdays, and Szimply at Károly körút 22 serves 09:00–16:00 from Monday to Saturday. Say Cheese on Kecskeméti utca 2 and Smúz Café on Kossuth Lajos tér open daily, the latter until 21:00.

Caffe Shakerato on Aranykéz utca opens at 08:00 on weekdays, closes at 15:00 on Fridays and stays shut at weekends.

Fekete and Múzeum körút

Anyám szerint (“according to my mother”) at Wesselényi utca 25 has been open since 2014.4 Its menu runs from bacon and eggs and a full English breakfast to Nutella and banana pancakes, plus two egg burgers named for how Papa and Mama would eat them, one with bacon and cheese and one with spinach.4 The kitchen closes at 15:30 on weekdays and 14:30 at weekends.4

Franziska on Rumbach Sebestyén utca 3 opens 08:00–16:00 daily and allows pets, Fanka on Holló utca opens at 08:00 (09:00 on Sundays), and Horizont on Erzsébet körút 13 has outdoor tables and closes at 16:00. The Goat Herder on István utca opens at 07:30 on weekdays and 08:00 at weekends.

Early starts in Buda and late brunch in Pest

Bruberi Coffee & Bakery on Pentelei Molnár utca in Buda opens at 07:00 on weekdays, as do pont.itt.cafe on Bartók Béla út 92-94 and Nosh Circle Café on Vágóhíd utca in Ferencváros. Grinta, on Horvát utca near Széll Kálmán tér, opens at 08:30 from Monday to Saturday and has vegan options.

Green House Cafe Brunch & Bar on Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út 35 runs daily 08:30–22:00, and Móka Kávézó at the Módszertani Kabinet on Varsányi Irén utca stays open until 22:00 from Thursday to Saturday.
