A good share of Amman's studying and remote work happens in cafés. A 2025 essay on the city's café boom describes university students, freelancers and remote workers using them to study, collaborate and focus, and notes that guides praise them for reliable Wi-Fi, comfort and long opening hours.1
Wi-Fi cafés turn up all over the city. Um Uthaina & Rabieh and Jabal al-Weibdeh have the most of them, ahead of Abdoun, and the choice runs from Rumi Cafe and Kan on Kulliyat al-Sharia Street to The Study House on Mecca Street, which never closes.
Local tip: Ask for the Wi-Fi code when you order, check whether it expires, and take calls outside or keep them short.3

Codes, sockets and what a session costs
Connections vary from table to table. A 2019 survey of cafés near a study-abroad center in Amman found one with no Wi-Fi at all, one where the passwords did not work, and others with time-limited codes; buying something was expected wherever you sat.2 Tea started at JD 1 at the cheapest place, and a chai latte cost JD 4 at a laptop café with very fast Wi-Fi, as of 2019.2
A remote worker's guide, updated in 2025, adds Sade Cafe and Kitab Coffee House, both with free Wi-Fi and plenty of sockets, Kitab's billed as high-speed.3 Sade Cafe Amman is at No. 36 Omar bin al-Khattab Street. Smoke can matter more than signal, and many newer cafés keep smoke-free sections for people who stay for hours.1
Weibdeh, Downtown and Jabal Amman
On the old hills, Rumi Cafe at No. 14 Kulliyat al-Sharia Street pairs Wi-Fi with outdoor tables, toilets and a bakery counter, and Kan at No. 33 and Kepi are close by. Below them in Al-Balad, Shababeek Albalad Cafe, by the first stairway off Prince Muhammad Street, serves brunch, and Magenta Coffee and Art House on Othman bin Affan Street is smoke-free, open Monday to Saturday, 10:00–20:00.
In Jabal Amman, Shams el Balad on Mu'ath bin Jabal Street opens daily 10:00–00:00, is smoke-free and takes cards, and Strada (سترادا) on Muhammad Rashid Rida Street has outdoor tables. Jungle Fever on Husni Fareez Street in Abdali is another smoke-free option with Wi-Fi.
Abdoun, Rabieh, Sweifieh and Mecca Street
West Amman has the longer hours. In Rabieh, Barista at No. 16 Kabul Street opens daily 09:00–00:00, and PAZ on Abdullah Bin Rawahah Way and Donner Cafe Al-Rabieh both have Wi-Fi; K Coffee House on Shatt al-Arab Street in Um Uthaina adds air conditioning and brunch, 09:00–23:00. In Abdoun, Seven Pennies, LOGANA on Ba'albak Street and Ahwet Ayoush on Queen Zein al-Sharaf Street all have Wi-Fi.
Melange in Abdoun, with two floors of seating, was recommended for working in a 2019 coffee guide.4 In Sweifieh, La Season on Wakalat Street has a smoking area and ستوريا (Storia) on Sae'd Al-Moftee Street serves vegan dishes. On Mecca Street, The Study House at No. 261 is open 24 hours and takes cards, and Media Café on Princess Tharwat al-Hassan Street has a bakery counter.
Near the University of Jordan and farther out
The University of Jordan, the country's oldest and largest, founded in 1962, stretches for several kilometers along Queen Rania Street.5 Near it, Uncle Sam on Al-Awza'i Street has Wi-Fi, and وافل و بانكيك كورنر (Waffle & Pancake Corner) on Queen Rania Street opens 09:00–21:00 every day except Friday.
DR. Sweert on Al-Madina Al-Munawwara Street in the Gardens area, Abanos Cafe on Prince Rashid bin al-Hassan Street in Jabal al-Hussein, and 40 Love, a café at a tennis club in Bayader Wadi al-Seer that opens 07:00–15:00, also have Wi-Fi.
