Breka Bakery & Café keeps its shops open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.1 Overnight the counters still carry cake slices, doughnuts, sandwiches, oven-baked pies and soup.1
The West End has the most cafés open late by a clear margin, with Mount Pleasant and Riley Park next. Most of the West End’s late options are dessert, bubble tea and waffle cafés on Robson, Davie and Denman Streets rather than espresso bars. East of Gastown, Ed’s Daily at 686 Powell Street keeps going longer than any of them, until 04:00 every day.
Local tip: On a weeknight, Bubble World Tea House at 1325 Robson is the place for a drink after 01:00: it pours until 02:00 every night, while Cafe Rico closes at 01:00 from Sunday to Thursday.
