Indiranagar was laid out by the Bangalore Development Authority in the late 1970s as a suburb of large bungalows and independent houses, many owned by defence personnel and public-sector employees.1 After the IT boom of the late 1990s its two arterial roads, 100 Feet Road and CMH Road, turned semi-commercial, and 100 Feet Road is now known for fashion brands, bars and pubs.1 HAL 2nd and 3rd Stage, neighboring layouts, are usually counted as part of it.1
For coffee, the address that matters is 12th Main Road. Araku Coffee is at No. 968, The Coffee Theatre at No. 950, Omira at No. 951 and The Kind at No. 2985, while Conçu shares No. 1088 with Kopitiam Lah, a Malaysian-style café serving kopi and kaya milkshakes.2 Only the MG Road area has more cafés.
Local tip: Some Indiranagar cafés limit laptops at weekends; for a working session, go on a weekday or try Nanav Cafe on 14th A Main, which has Wi-Fi from 08:30.

The Purple Line has two stations in the neighborhood, Indiranagar and Swami Vivekananda Road, and its stretch through here was the first part of Namma Metro to open.1 That first section, running west to MG Road, carried passengers from 20 October 2011.3 BMTC buses run along 100 Feet Road and CMH Road, the second named for Chinmaya Mission Hospital.1
Araku opened its first café in India at Plot 968, after an earlier one in Paris. The 5,000 sq ft building has India's first Modbar on the ground floor, a sensory bar where V60, AeroPress, Chemex and moka pot brews are made to taste, and barista training upstairs.4 In 2021 its CEO-designate said the coffee was terroir-mapped and traceable from soil to cup.4
Kura, which opened on Double Road in August 2026, serves 08:00–23:00 and runs a weekly Coffee Omakase, a tasting sequence of coffee drinks.5 Its founders spent nearly two years training in roasting, brewing and sensory work before opening.5 The Kind, at 2985 12th Main, opens daily 08:00–23:00 with Wi-Fi.
In March 2026 a woman's post about Indiranagar cafés turning away laptops, Conçu and Araku among them, set off a debate online; she ended up working at a Third Wave Coffee instead.6 Conçu said it does not allow long laptop sessions at weekends, to keep seats free at peak hours.6
Cafés here with Wi-Fi include Nanav Cafe at 2286 14th A Main (08:30–21:30), Copper + Cloves on 12th Main (09:00–19:00), Mountain Bee Kombucha Hive on 2nd Main (10:00–20:00) and Yogi-sthaan, the yoga house café at 89 11th Cross (08:00–21:00).
Older habits hold on 2nd Main: Sree Manjunatha Coffee Bar is at No. 34A and Kaapi Right at No. 9. No part of the city has more bakery cafés than Indiranagar, from Mäki Pâtisserie on 11th Cross and Nuage Pâtisserie on 1st Cross to Lavonne on 3rd Cross and Panetteria Bengaluru on Double Road, open 12:00–23:00.
Subko brought its full café format to 100 Feet Road in September 2026, sharing the space with The Humming Tree; the café runs from breakfast through the afternoon, when the venue's music evenings take over.7 The Hole in the Wall on 1st Main, Tuesday to Sunday, and The Studio by Copper + Cloves on 9th A Main, daily, both open at 07:30.
