Cafés open late in Bengaluru

Coffee until 23:00 in Koramangala and Indiranagar, and a few counters past midnight.

In 2024 Bengaluru's late limit moved to 01:00. A government order dated 29 July extended hours for hotels, shops, bars and other licensed establishments within BBMP limits, a change Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had first announced in the 2023 state budget.1

Few cafés use all of it; most of the late ones close at 23:00. Koramangala has the most cafés open late, ahead of Indiranagar, the MG Road area and BTM Layout. Isobel in Basavanagudi and Sypp Coffee in BTM Layout serve until 01:00, and De Street Cafe on Hosur Road never closes.

Local tip: For coffee after midnight, Isobel in Basavanagudi and Sypp Coffee in BTM Layout serve until 01:00, and De Street Cafe on Hosur Road in Koramangala stays open all night.

The 1 am rule and its limits

Under the order, club, star-hotel and hotel licence holders may open 09:00–01:00, and refreshment-bar licences 10:00–01:00.1 The Urban Development Department approved the change, which the government expected to bring more trade and revenue.1 Pubs with microbreweries were still limited to 10:00–23:30 in March 2025, when the excise minister said 11 cases had been registered against pubs in three years for staying open later.2

An opposition member called that a double standard, and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said the government would soon resolve it.2

Coffee until 23:00

The Caffeine Baar keeps 08:00–23:00 at both branches, on Church Street and at South End C Cross in Jayanagar, and Old Madras Baking Company does the same on St. Mark's Road and on 80 Feet Road in the New BEL Road area. The Kind on 12th Main, The Brown Table in Malleshwaram and block two coffee on 9th Main in Basavanagudi also open at 08:00 and close at 23:00.

Later starters include The Estate Deli on Indiranagar Double Road (11:00–23:00), Panetteria Bengaluru on Double Road (12:00–23:00), Freedom Cafe on MSRIT Road (11:00–23:00) and Sip and Crisp in BTM Layout (11:00–23:00).

After 23:00

A handful run past the usual hour. Vienna Bakehouse & Kitchen in Koramangala's 6th Block and Chai House on 31st Main in HSR Layout close at 23:30. Isobel, on 9th A Main, has Wi-Fi until 01:00, and Sypp Coffee, at 746 7th Cross in BTM Layout, is air-conditioned and open 07:30–01:00. De Street Cafe at 8 Hosur Road is open 24 hours.

Filter coffee is easier to find late than you might expect. Namma Filter Coffee in Jayanagar's 3rd Block serves until midnight, block two coffee on 9th Main Road in Basavanagudi until 23:00, and in October 2025 the Rameshwaram Cafe on the Outer Ring Road in JP Nagar kept hours of 05:00 to 02:30.3

Long days at both ends

Some late cafés open early too. Murugan Cafe in Basavanagudi keeps 05:00–23:00 every day, Marseli Cafe & Patisserie on 24th Main in HSR Layout 07:00–23:00, and Iris cafe on 18th Cross 09:30–23:00. Tea runs late as well: Kongsi Tea Bar on 11th Main in Jayanagar pours bubble tea 11:00–23:00, and YOYO! Fresh Tea Bar keeps the same hours.

Check the day before you go: Vida Brazilian Cafe in Kalyan Nagar opens 11:00–22:00 only from Tuesday to Sunday, and ner.lu on Paramahansa Yogananda Road in Indiranagar closes at 21:30 on weekdays but 22:00 at weekends.
