Koramangala was planned as a suburb after independence and covers about 1,800 acres in eight blocks; the Inner Ring Road separates Blocks 1–4 from 5–8.1 Between the city center and Electronic City, it drew newcomers in the late-1990s tech boom and is now known as a startup hub, with high land prices and high-end shopping.1

Coffee here runs late. Koramangala has more cafés open late than any other part of Bengaluru: Gully Coffee Roasters and Daily Bakehouse serve until 23:00, Vienna Bakehouse & Kitchen on 18th Main until 23:30, and De Street Cafe at 8 Hosur Road never closes. Tim Hortons chose 80 Feet Road in the 8th Block for its first outlet in India.2

Local tip: For coffee after 23:30, De Street Cafe at 8 Hosur Road is open 24 hours; before that, Gully Coffee Roasters on 4th B Cross serves until 23:00.

On 7th Cross, Daily Bakehouse at No. 82 sits near Cafe OTW and Kaffe 399, and Jyoti Nivas College Road has Mitico Coffee Roasters at No. 62 and Bearfoot Bistro at No. 50.

Coffee after dark

Late opening is the area's habit rather than the exception. Gully Coffee Roasters and Daily Bakehouse both close at 23:00, and Vienna Bakehouse & Kitchen, opposite Devi Eye Hospital in the 6th Block, stays open until 23:30.

For anything later, De Street Cafe at 8 Hosur Road is open 24 hours. Kannu Ki Chai, at 71/72 Hosur Road, has outdoor seats for a tea instead. Closer to the 5th Block, The Original's Cafe is on 1st Cross and Krust Cafe on 1st Main.
