Brunch has gained ground in Chile in recent years, according to Mestiere, a café with stores in Vitacura and at Mall Vivo Los Trapenses. It staged what it called Chile's first Día del Brunch on 25 October 2025, with every brunch on its menu at CLP$8,900 from 08:00 to 20:00.2

The word blends breakfast and lunch, and the habit began as a late Sunday breakfast among the English upper class in the late 19th century. A true brunch mixes both menus and runs until about lunchtime. In 2025, The Clinic argued that many Santiago places simply extend breakfast, and cooks told the paper that Chilean diners order breakfast or lunch dishes depending on when they arrive.1

Local tip: For a weekday brunch, Cafetería Cafetales in Barrio Italia opens at 08:00 Monday to Friday; on Sundays, Cafeteria Morin in Providencia and Biciclo in Ñuñoa are both open.

Set brunches on Alonso de Córdova and beyond

The set-price brunches in The Clinic's June 2025 roundup lean toward Vitacura and Las Condes. Malva Loca, at Alonso de Córdova 4355, served everything from French toast and eggs benedict to vegan lasagna on Saturdays 11:00–16:30, for CLP$28,500 a head, or CLP$43,500 with open bar, and Buriana, at Alonso de Córdova 3788, laid out an Italian buffet on Sundays 13:00–17:00 for CLP$35,000.1

Cheaper options were Quínoa on Luis Pasteur 5393, open every day with brunch from CLP$16,990, and Toni Lautaro at Mercado Urbano Tobalaba, Apoquindo 2730, with a CLP$16,900 weekend brunch from 10:00 to midday and coffee refills. The NH Collection Plaza on Avenida Vitacura 2610 charged CLP$40,000 per adult and CLP$17,000 per child for its Sunday buffet, 13:00–15:30.1

Providencia's entries in the same roundup were looser. La Popular Pizza y Pan, at José Manuel Infante 1232, serves croissants, medialunas, sandwiches and pizza at any hour, and Con Agallas, a seafood shop at Ricardo Lyon 1056, opens its seafood bar on Saturday and Sunday mornings.1

Brunch at Puelo in Vitacura

Puelo's café at Las Catalpas 1522 works as a coffee bar in the morning and serves lunch and light evening food, and its brunch was among The Clinic's picks in 2023.3 The family behind Puelo also runs a restaurant specializing in brunch, two blocks from its roastery.4

Puelo Specialty Coffee Bar opens 09:00–21:30 at weekends, and Puelo Coffee Roasters on Avenida Vitacura 3535 opens from 08:00 on weekdays.

Café brunch in Providencia, Barrio Italia and Ñuñoa

Away from the set menus, brunch here is a café meal. Cafeteria Morin on Bernarda Morín 443 serves 08:00–20:00 every day, and Ciao Fiorentina is on Avenida Pocuro 3015. In Ñuñoa, Biciclo on Santa Julia 913-C opens 09:00–20:00 daily, and Punto Dulce on Avenida Irarrázaval 3259 doubles as a pastelería.

In Barrio Italia, Original Green Roasters on Avenida Rancagua 040 keeps weekend hours of 10:00–17:00, while Cafetería Cafetales on Doctor Torres Boonen 737 keeps weekday hours, 08:00–20:00. Downtown, Café Trieste in Lastarria starts at 09:30 on Saturdays and Sundays, El Guelu is on General Mackenna 1420, and Quererte covers Las Condes from Avenida Cristóbal Colón 6560.
