Praga-Północ is the right-bank district across the Vistula from the Old Town, 11.42 km² of tenements, markets and former factories.1 Much of it survived the war undamaged, and it has become increasingly popular with artists and tourists.1 Julian Różycki, a wealthy pharmacist, founded the bazaar that still carries his name at the end of the 19th century.1

Coffee here follows three lines: Ząbkowska Street and the Koneser complex, the streets around Dworzec Wileński such as Sierakowskiego, Okrzei and Targowa, and Plac Hallera to the north, where Trzy Kruki opened in 2019.2 Most cafés keep daytime hours; a few on Targowa and Okrzei stay open into the evening.

Local tip: Come on a summer weekend, when Ząbkowska is closed to cars, and start at Ave Coffee at no. 28, which opens at 09:00 on Saturdays.4
