About two in three Warsaw cafés with posted hours close by 20:00. The ones that keep going are often klubokawiarnie (club-cafés), which add a bar, concerts and talks to the coffee and stay open past midnight at weekends. Jaś i Małgosia on Aleja Jana Pawła II calls itself the cradle of the city’s club-café history: a café opened there in 1967, when the street was still Marchlewskiego, and it reopened as a klubokawiarnia in November 2014.12

Late usually means Friday and Saturday. Jaś i Małgosia, Młodsza Siostra on Dobra and Turnus on Emilii Plater serve until 02:00 at weekends, as does Havana in Żoliborz, and Południk 2.0 on Wilcza until 01:00 from Thursday. During the week they close between 23:00 and 01:00.

Local tip: Check the day before you set out: Południk 2.0 on Wilcza closes at 23:00 from Sunday to Wednesday but at 01:00 from Thursday to Saturday.
