Midtown is the office core of Manhattan: Times Square and the Theater District in the middle, Hell's Kitchen and Hudson Yards to the west, Koreatown and the Garment District around 34th Street, and Grand Central, Turtle Bay and Sutton Place to the east. Coffee here is built around the commute, with bagel shops opening at 06:00 and espresso bars at the foot of office towers.

Grand Central Terminal, opened on February 2, 1913, handled about 67 million passengers a year in 2018, and the former 43rd Street service dock became the Grand Central Market in 1998.1 On the West Side, the 7 train's 34th Street–Hudson Yards station opened on September 13, 2015, and the first phase of the Hudson Yards towers was finished in March 2019.2

Local tip: Bryant Park's chairs are free to move: buy a coffee at one of the kiosks or at Joe on West 40th Street and carry it to any table you like. For Wi-Fi, The Library Café across Fifth Avenue has it.
