Open late cafés in Phuket

Cafés open past 22:00, and a few that never close.

In the Mueang Phuket climate normals, daytime highs sit between 31.5 °C and 34 °C in every month, while nights stay around 24–26 °C.1 After dark is the cooler part of the day for a coffee, a smoothie or a late sandwich.

Kata and Karon have the most cafés open late, followed by Rawai–Nai Harn and Patong. Late usually means 22:00 or 23:00 here, and a handful never close, among them Pancake and Peak at 495 Patak Road in Karon and Eat me bakery and cafe at 122 Mae Luan Road in Phuket Town.

Local tip: On a Sunday, eat your way down Thalang Road at the Lard Yai market from 16:00, then head to GROM Cha at 46 Yaowarat Road, open until 22:00.3

Which cafés stay open latest

Dannys Place at 74/13 Rim Hat Road in Kamala runs daily 08:00–02:00. Sandwich Shoppe cafe & Bar in Aroonsom Plaza, Patong, closes at 23:45, and สวีทเดวิลคาเฟ่ (Sweet Devil Café) in Phuket Town at midnight.

Several close at 23:00: Coffee house cafe on Kata Road, Nid in Kata–Karon, EAT on Sai Yuan in Rawai, and Phuketurk and Eddiez Nutrition Station in Patong. Lucky 13 Sandwich on Soi Naya in Nai Harn is open around the clock.

Kata and Karon have the deepest bench at 22:00: Anda Cafe & Bar opens 09:00–22:00, Mini Coffee 07:30–22:00, Blue Shark 11:00–22:00 and Hottabych 12:00–22:00.

Patong after dark

Bangla Road, Patong's 400-meter nightlife strip, runs from Beach Road inland to Rat-U-Thit Road and closes to traffic around 18:00.2 Licensed venues on it trade from 18:00 to 04:00, smaller bars often shut around 02:00, and the crowd peaks between 22:00 and 01:00.2

Patong's late cafés keep shorter hours than the bars. Pupa opens daily 09:00–22:00, and Phuketurk and Eddiez Nutrition Station keep going until 23:00. Campus Coffee Roasters on Rat-U-Thit 200 Pi Road closes earlier, at 19:30.

Old Town and Phuket Town in the evening

On Sundays, Thalang Road in Phuket Old Town closes to traffic for the Lard Yai walking street market, usually from 16:00 to 22:00. Vendors cook meals, snacks and drinks on the spot, and fresh juice comes from big glass jars.3

On other nights, GROM Cha at 46 Yaowarat Road, Enjoy time cafe, which has outdoor tables, and a.dessert.moments, closed on Tuesdays, stay open until 22:00. Both GROM Cha and Enjoy time cafe open at 10:00, so either covers an afternoon coffee that runs into dinner. In Phuket Town, Live Cafe opens daily 10:00–22:00 and Eat Greens 10:30–22:00, and Eat me bakery and cafe on Mae Luan Road is the all-night fallback.

Working late in the south and Kathu

In Chalong, View cafe closes at 23:00, and so does PLACE Coworking on Chaofa West Road, whose shared floors run 08:00–23:00 every day.4 In Rawai, the coworking space Let's Work on Wiset Road stays open until midnight on weekdays and until 20:00 at weekends.4

Denz Coworking Cafe, on the hill between Kathu and Patong, runs weekdays until 23:30.4 In Kathu, Shuffle Cafe opens 09:00–22:00. Back in Rawai, Gallery Cafe by Pinky, Piccolomode and Mi's cafe all close at 22:00.
