Beverly Hills is a separate city, not part of Los Angeles. It incorporated in 1914, covers 5.71 square miles and had 32,701 residents in 2020; together with West Hollywood it is entirely surrounded by the City of Los Angeles.1 Its shopping center is the Golden Triangle, the wedge between Santa Monica Boulevard, Wilshire Boulevard and Crescent Drive, with Rodeo Drive, one of the most expensive shopping streets in the world, at its heart.1

Most of the cafés sit on the Triangle's grid of drives, where Beverly Drive is lined with the kind of chain stores usually found in malls.1 South of Wilshire, the cafés spread out: a roaster on Charleville Boulevard, bakeries on West Olympic and tea rooms on South Robertson.

Local tip: Shopping on Rodeo Drive? Avva Coffee on South Santa Monica Boulevard is a block away; for an earlier start, Brooklyn Water Bagel on South Beverly Drive opens at 05:30 on weekdays.
