Bangkok keeps late hours within set limits. The BTS and MRT run from 06:00 to midnight, and convenience stores are open around the clock.1 Bars and clubs face a legal closing time: as of October 2025 most venues had to shut at 02:00, and only Silom, RCA and Ratchadaphisek could stay open later.2

Siam & Pathum Wan has the most cafés open to 22:00 or beyond on one or more days of the week, ahead of Sukhumvit and Ratchada & Huai Khwang, and many are dessert and drink cafés rather than coffee bars.

Local tip: If you want espresso rather than dessert after 22:00, head for Iwane Goes Nature on Sukhumvit Soi 23 or FABLAB on Sukhumvit 63, and leave enough time to catch the last BTS before midnight.

Dessert, matcha and fresh milk

Much of Bangkok's late café trade is sweet. In Ratchada & Huai Khwang, Korean Dessert Cafe serves until 01:00 and Mama Bingsu until 22:30. Love U So Matcha at 1/8 Sukhumvit 49 bakes and stays open until midnight, and penguin likes chocolate on Sukhumvit closes at 22:00, as does milk solid in Siam & Pathum Wan.

Some places only get going in the afternoon. Phra Khanong Nomsod (พระโขนง นมสด; nom sot means fresh milk) on Soi Pridi Banomyong 7 opens 16:00–22:00, and True love cafe on Ari Samphan 2 runs 12:00–22:00, closed Mondays. In the old town, Arelomdee (อาลมดี) opens at 12:00 and stays open until 23:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.

Chinatown and the old town at night

Yaowarat Road, the 1,532 m spine of Chinatown, turns into a food street at night that draws locals and visitors from across the city.3 Tai Seng at 538 Yaowarat Road serves coffee until 22:00.

In Rattanakosin & Banglamphu, Raku-Tea at 124 Chakrabongse Road and Himalayan Coffee, which has vegan options, both close at 22:00. Kor-Nom-Pang (ข-นม-ปัง, a play on ขนมปัง, bread) opens 06:30–22:00 Monday to Saturday and until 20:00 on Sundays. In Ari, Hor Hidden Café runs until 22:30, closed Tuesdays, and Onedee Cafe until 22:00 daily.

Round-the-clock cafés for students

Late cafés have a steady student market. In November 2025 one of Thailand's coffee chains began piloting 24-hour branches at six sites in and around Bangkok, aimed at students who study late at night, freelancers and owners of small businesses, with Wi-Fi and power outlets for working.4

Two mall cafés also close at 22:00: CityFresh on the fifth floor of centralwOrld and JÉRÔME Cheesecake in the Veranda Zone of ICONSIAM. After the last train at midnight, the 24-hour convenience stores are the fallback.1
