Heat and the air-conditioned table
The weather decides where you can work. The hottest month is April, when the mean daily high reaches 35.7°C, and the city's record of 41.0°C was set on 7 May 2023.2 Bangkok also holds its heat: the urban heat island effect has been measured at 2.5°C by day and 8.0°C at night.2 For March and April, Wikivoyage's advice is to plan plenty of time in air-conditioned malls.3
Some Wi-Fi cafés are air-conditioned too. Near Chulalongkorn University, * small moment at 226 Soi Chulalongkorn 50 opens 07:30–16:00, and Experiment Café at 222–224 on the same soi runs 07:00–21:00. Kefi on Si Phraya Road, DRINK COFFEE - HQ at 878 Phloen Chit Road and Sarnies Sourdough in Bang Rak also have air-conditioning.
Working in the old town and Chinatown
In Rattanakosin & Banglamphu, Coffee Madness opens 07:30–20:00 and takes cards, Alice Cafe at 125 Fueang Nakhon Road opens 08:00–17:00 with vegan options, and Art Café Sourire on Soi Damnoen Klang Nuea starts at 06:30 with air-conditioning and outdoor seats. Early starts and late sessions

CRAFT, at 78 Soi Ton Son, runs 07:00–23:00.
For an early start, Quest Cafe on Phaya Thai Road opens at 06:00 and stays open until 22:00, ยูยะ ค๊อฟฟี่ on Ramkhamhaeng Road opens at 06:00, and Artis Coffee on Sukhumvit at 06:30. In Thonglor, Bump Coffee Space on Soi To Sak 1 starts at 07:30 on weekdays.
Laptop manners and tipping
Laptop rules and minimum-spend policies can change when a café gets busy, so ask before ordering for a long session.4 Test the connection when you arrive, since speeds drop in a crowded café, and keep mobile data ready for important calls.4
Tips are not necessary in Bangkok, though they are welcome if the service has been good.3 Peak hours vary by area: Ari fills up through the morning, Thonglor gets noisy in mid-afternoon, and Chinatown is quiet on weekday mornings but busy on Saturday evenings.4
