Nakameguro and Daikanyama are one stop apart on the Tōkyū Tōyoko line but read differently on foot. Nakameguro has a river and an elevated railway with shops beneath it. Daikanyama, toward Shibuya, is known for fashion boutiques, brunch and leafy streets, and is about a 15-minute walk from Shibuya and ten from Ebisu.1

Between them, the small coffee bars of Kamimeguro and Aobadai share streets with Daikanyama's patisseries and pancake houses, and more roasters continue south into Yūtenji. From the top of Saigoyama Park you can pick out the river and plan the walk.

Local tip: From the top of Saigoyama Park you can see down to the Meguro River, so start there and walk downhill to Nakameguro's coffee bars rather than the other way around.1
