Neihu Technology Park sets the working rhythm here: 156,808 people were employed in it in 2016, 5,750 companies had registered by June 2017, and its land is 95 percent developed.6 Yangguang Street and Gangqian Road run through it, and that is where the weekday cafés sit.

East of it, Nangang split from Neihu as a town on July 6, 1946. Tea plants arrived at Dakeng in 1885, making it the birthplace of Pouchong tea, and an industrial-zone designation in 1955 brought enough pollution to earn the nickname Black Township (黑鄉).7 High-speed rail reached Nangang station on July 1, 2016, and the Nangang Exhibition Center, which has hosted Computex, is the interchange of the Wenhu and Bannan lines.7

Local tip: Yangguang Street is about 15 minutes on foot from Gangqian station, so allow for the walk if you are carrying a laptop.4
