Between Nanjing Fuxing and Xingtian Temple MRT stations, this part of Zhongshan District takes its landmark from Xingtian Temple (行天宮), a Guan Yu temple whose Taipei main temple opened on January 25, 1968, funded by a coal-mining businessman.6 It is known as much for what it removed: since August 26, 2014 the large incense burner and offering tables have been gone, and worshippers press their palms together instead.6
The coffee here tends to carry one person's name or history. A Yitong Street bar is named after a roaster's mother, a Jinzhou Street shop after its Q Grader founder, and a house off Minsheng East Road belongs to a former finance worker.123 At the top of the range, a single hand-brewed cup on Yitong Street cost NT$400 as of 2024.1
Local tip: The Yitong Street bar is closed on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and part of its seating goes by reservation, so book before crossing town for it.1

Fika Fika手沖精品咖啡概念店, near Yitong Park, is the SHIU XIANG (秀香) project of Fika Fika founder 陳志煌, a Nordic roasting cup (北歐盃) champion.1 It carries his mother's name, and Mirror Media's October 2024 report called it recently opened.1 His stated aim is medium and dark roasts with refinement and depth, not only the floral, fruity kind of cup.1
Hand-brewed coffee and espresso come from separate bars. As of 2024, two espressos cost NT$640 and the one dessert, a butter pound cake, NT$150.1 Seats are split between reservations and a walk-in waitlist, and the doors close at 17:30.1
PAI coffee sits in Alley 6 of Lane 147, Minsheng East Road Section 2, close to Xingtian Temple station, in an old house with a dark-blue front and small floral floor tiles.2 Founder Hubert spent six years in finance, opened in 2018 and holds an SCAA roaster certificate; he roasts everything it pours on a Slayer espresso machine, mostly between medium and medium-dark.2 Staff make tiramisu, cinnamon rolls and caramel pudding in small runs, and his dachshund sometimes turns up.2
Coffee Remus on Jinzhou Street takes its name from founder Remus Chang (張鴻昇), a Q Grader and SCA-authorized trainer. Its Chinese name, 旅沐, was picked for the sound when he began planning the shop in 2005.3 The espresso blend is medium-dark, and more than ten single origins at different roast levels are available every day.3
德佈咖啡 (Debut Cafe), at number 15 on this road, began in Keelung and brews single origins by flannel drip among old herbal-shop cabinets and boxes reused from a large roaster.4 It runs 13:00–22:00 daily. Kiosk at number 40 moved from Yongkang Street and, as of 2025, had spent nearly eight years under the highway with its owner working alone; order the flat white or an oat-milk espresso drink.4
貝克宅 (Roasting House), in Alley 5 of Lane 89, Nanjing East Road Section 3, is about four minutes on foot from Nanjing Fuxing station.5 A 2025 TVBS roundup of no-time-limit cafés picked it for second-floor seating with outlets, Wi-Fi and beanbags, and recommended the seasonal strawberry chiffon alongside scones, pound cake and cinnamon rolls.5
For a first coffee, Okey Coffee and 胖虎咖啡 (PH Coffee Perspective & Hunger), the latter on Chang'an East Road Section 2, both open at 07:30 on weekdays. Okey closes by 16:00 and takes the weekend off, so it works as a breakfast stop and not an afternoon one.
