The Serbian government’s Welcome to Serbia portal says the country has many coworking spaces and cafés suited to remote work, and that digital nomads usually stay about two and a half months, between April and October.1

Not every café welcomes a laptop, though. Some cafés in Belgrade’s central neighborhoods have put signs on doors and tables asking guests not to use laptops, especially at busy times.2 Vračar has the most cafés with Wi-Fi, ahead of New Belgrade and Dorćol, and in Skadarlija more than a quarter of cafés offer it, the highest share of any area.

Local tip: If a café has a laptop zone, take a seat at the bar or a high table; the low tables are meant for guests who aren’t working.2

Where these cafés are: Vračar (18), New Belgrade (17), Dorćol (12), Skadarlija & Bajloni (9), Terazije & Kralja Milana (5), Zemun (4), Palilula & Tašmajdan (3), Savamala (2), Voždovac (2), Senjak & Dedinje (1), Knez Mihailova & Kosančićev Venac (1).

Laptop zones and etiquette

The objection is to the guest who stays seven or eight hours on one coffee or juice. One owner quoted by Večernje novosti in May 2025 set a laptop zone from 12:00 to 16:00 and then turned the music up; laptop users sit at the bar or at high tables, and the smaller tables with softer chairs are kept for guests who aren’t working.2

Skadarlija and Dorćol

In Skadarlija, Artist on Kondina opens 07:00–23:00 daily, and Coffee Pass at Bulevar despota Stefana 25 opens at 08:00 on weekdays, has air conditioning and lets you bring a pet. Senica, at No. 19 on the same boulevard, stays open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Užitak on Hilandarska runs 08:00–21:00 on weekdays, and Wagokoro on Carigradska opens in the afternoon.

Dorćol has UGAO Specialty Coffee at Dunavska 2i, 08:00–20:00 daily, The Locals on Dunavski kej, 10:00–18:00, and Delicent on Knićaninova, open from 08:00 on weekdays with air conditioning. Pržionica on Dobračina, the name under which D59B’s founders started out in 2012, opens 08:00–18:00 on weekdays.3

Vračar and New Belgrade

Vračar’s Wi-Fi cafés include two specialty bars, Koppa on Nikolaja Krasnova and 7AM Roasters on Južni bulevar, and Dusha on Radoslava Grujića, open until 23:00. On Njegoševa, Puter at No. 82 serves until midnight Monday to Saturday and Zona Industriale at No. 49 until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Jezgro on Vojislava Ilića opens Monday to Saturday, 08:00–20:00.

Small Tree, a salon de thé on Svetog Save, opens weekdays 09:00–21:00 and closes on Sundays. In New Belgrade, Contra on Jurija Gagarina opens at 07:30 and Cvet on Nodilova at 09:00. Focus on Durmitorska in Savamala opens at 07:30 on weekdays, and Kuća kafe in Voždovac pairs Wi-Fi with specialty coffee.

Wi-Fi without the smoke

A Wi-Fi sign doesn’t mean a smoke-free room. Serbian law lets cafés choose whether guests may smoke inside, within limits set by size.4 Clinique on Krušedolska, Norma on Njegoševa, Dorian Grey on Kralja Petra and Contra all allow smoking indoors.

For a smoke-free room with Wi-Fi, try Koppa, UGAO, Pržionica, Coffee Pass or BASIC coffee & breakfast on Admirala Geprata, open daily 09:00–19:00. Adore on Čakorska in Senjak is smoke-free too and stays open until 22:00 on weekdays.
